IAV
Hassan II Institute of Agronomy and Veterinary Medicine
IAV is the major Moroccan institution of higher education in Agriculture and Natural Resources. IAV is located in Rabat and in Agadir through the Horticultural Complex. IAV evolved in a multidisciplinary polytechnic centre for biological and earth science and technologies ensuring training of specialists in various fields of agriculture and rural development (Engineers, Veterinarians, PhD). IAV has been assigned three main missions:
1. High education: IAV implemented six large faculties of an integrated system in Agronomy, Horticulture, Food science, Rural Equipment, Veterinary Medicine and Topography. Between 1600 and 1800 students are enrolled yearly in the various training programs.
2. Scientific research: IAv is involved in fulfilling the required research for education and the needs of its partners at the national and the international levels. About 250 MSc and 15 PhD students graduate annually.
3. Development: IAV is recognized in Morocco, the Mediterranean region and in Africa as a specialized institution in sustainable rural development through the continuous education and training, technical support and services, outreach and transfer of know-how and technologies.
