Deciphering the plant microbiome and its determinants and modifiers for use in disease control

  1. To decipher the xylem and rhizospheric microbiome in woody species of agricultural interest, mainly olive, almond and grapevine.
  2. To determine the potential of this microbiome in the control of diseases caused by vascular pathogens, such as Xylella fastidiosa and Verticilium dahliae.
  3. Study of the factors that modulate the structure of microbial communities residing in the xylem and rhizospheric microbiome.
  4. Analysis and characterization of the intestinal microbiome and its importance in metabolic diseases in humans, such as Obesity, Metabolic Syndrome and Celiac Disease.
