The Institute for Sustainable Agriculture is looking for candidate for a full-time position for a 4-year contract as project manager for a Horizon Europe project which will start in September 1st 2022.

The project: “Beyond Xylella, Integrated Management Strategies for Mitigating Xylella fastidiosa impact in Europe (BeXyl)” is a project with 31 partners (28 beneficiaries and 3 associated partners) and is aimed to better tackle new introductions of the quarantine plant pathogen Xylella fastidiosa (Xf) in Europe and to develop and implement tailored Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies to mitigate the impacts of current Xf outbreaks, helping the agricultural/forestry sectors to remain productive and sustainable at long-term.

It will be coordinated by the Institute for Sustainable Agriculture (IAS-CSIC), located in Cordoba (Southern Spain). IAS-CSIC is one of the leading institutes of agricultural research in Spain, with a large network of international collaborations.

The project is looking for a candidate to be based in Cordoba with the duties of providing support to the project leading the project office (which will lead non-technical matters) and also support to the data management, dissemination and coordination of some activities among the partners, and the communication with stakeholders participating in the project.

Experience in administrative support of research projects and fluency in English and Spanish is required. Other skills that will be valued will be some technical knowledge of plant production and/or agronomy, and on data management from scientific repositories.

The official selection process will start on July with incorporation as soon as this process is completed, but the candidate needs to be included in the CSIC hiring electronic site during this process.
