SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY WEEK

The IAS actively participates in Science and Technology Week, an annual milestone celebrated in November throughout Spain.

The Science and Technology Week is the most important initiative of scientific dissemination in many autonomous communities. Since 2001 it has been organized on a national basis with the objectives of bringing science closer to the public of all ages, stimulating a taste for scientific knowledge and encouraging the participation of citizens in scientific issues by means of outreach activities in museums, universities, research centers, technology parks, etc.

Its main feature is that the institutions and research centers open their doors so that the public can learn about the latest advances in science and the main lines of research that scientists are developing. The Week seeks to give the general public access to the spaces where scientific knowledge is developed, coming into direct contact with laboratories and researchers. There is room for all formats: workshops, exhibitions, guided tours and open days, meetings between young people and researchers, scientific cafés, debates, conferences, shows, etc.

At the IAS, as could not be otherwise, we have been celebrating the event with various activities in which our researchers are involved.
