IRRIGATION ENGINEERING AND HYDROLOGY. WATER AND SOIL MANAGEMENT AND CONSERVATION.
Research in irrigation engineering and hydrology oriented to water and soil conservation in irrigated agricultural systems, seeking water management policies and practices that are of social interest and compatible with the conservation and restoration of the natural environment. The research domains are large river basins, irrigable areas, small irrigated basins and irrigated fields. Part of this research is carried out in poor countries, seeking in this case food security and social equity. Research methods and techniques include experimentation (field and laboratory), monitoring of “natural experiments”, modeling, remote sensing and spatial analysis.
