EFFICIENT USE OF WATER RESOURCES IN AGRICULTURE

My work is based on crop physiology and its relationship with resource use efficiency (water and nitrogen), mainly in the analysis of crop water relations. The objective of my work focuses on the optimization of deficit irrigation strategies in fruit trees and the development of indicators derived from thermal, multi- and hyperspectral information for monitoring water status and irrigation scheduling, as well as nitrogen nutrition. My line of research integrates crop physiology and high resolution remote sensing for monitoring crop responses to environmental stress for management optimization as well as crop protection.
