PRECISION AGRICULTURE AND MALHERBOLOGY: WEED MAPPING USING MULTIVARIATE GEOSTATISTICS AND AGRICULTURAL REMOTE SENSING
My research activity focuses on three main areas:
- Precision agriculture: study of the spatio-temporal variability of weeds in late phenological stages in herbaceous crops,
- Multivariate geostatistics: cokriging-type interpolation techniques that combine georeferenced field data with secondary variables from UAV imagery for the optimization of weed mapping at late phenological stages, especially in cases where detection and mapping of weeds at early phenological stages is complicated.
- Malherbology: design of effective localized weed management strategies for the optimization of agrochemical use: design of localized treatment maps based on the probability of infestation risk.
