INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT OF DISEASES CAUSED BY Vertici llium spp.

My research aims to develop innovative, efficient and environmentally friendly strategies for the integrated control of Verticillium dahliae Verticillium verticillium of the olive tree, by studying the genetic and virulence structure of its populations and the joint use of resistant rootstocks and treatments with Rhizophagus intraradices and Trichoderma spp. The olive tree rootstocks Ac-13 and Ac-18 resistant to defoliating (D) and non-defoliating pathotypes and to races 1 and 2 of V. dahliae have been developed and shown to be efficient in the protection against Verticillium Verticillium in cvs. Arbequina and Picual olive susceptible to V. dahliae D under experimental and field conditions. These rootstock/graft combinations are being marketed under the name Vertirés®.
