WEBINAR – Drought Impact Assessment Platform on water productivity (d-iap)

In recent years across our planet, the increasing frequency and severity of droughts have been placing growing pressure on water resources, agricultural production, and food security. While major advances have been made in drought monitoring and early-warning systems, the assessment of drought impacts has lagged behind, limiting efforts to enhance the resilience and adaptive capacity of agrifood systems.To address this gap, FAO has developed the Drought Impact Assessment Platform (d-iap), a web-based platform that combines advanced crop modelling with comprehensive datasets to deliver robust, policy-relevant assessments of drought impacts under both current and future climate scenarios.
Following the platform’s launch in March 2025, a webinar will be held on 21 January 2026 to present the latest developments of d-iap and demonstrate its key applications and functionalities for decision-makers, practitioners, and stakeholders involved in drought risk management.
